What size freezer do I need?
When you decide to start eating direct from the farm beef, you will no longer be going to the grocery store and buying individual amounts on a regular basis. Because of this, you will need to have the facilities to store your bulk beef purchase.
Most people think they will need a huge freezer to store their beef but on average this is not true. Organizing your packaged beef will help alleviate wasted space and the purchasing of a larger than necessary freezer.
Freezers vary greatly, but basically you can count on a chest style freezer being more efficient than an upright freezer. Often times a separate freezer will be used for holding your bulk amounts and then you move a selection of meat to your freezer that is in your refrigerator for everyday usage. Floor space will often help dictate what style of freezer you purchase also.
Take the time to decide what style of freezer will best suit your circumstances and also your future plans. We are providing links to a few freezers below that may help you in your quest.
